Are you a Guerrilla job searcher

Are you a Guerrilla job searcher Last week at ExecuNet, Toronto, myself and 35 other senior executives were fortunate to listen to a dynamic and informative speaker. David Perry, Managing Partner at Perry-Martel, an executive search firm based in Ottawa, spoke on Guerrilla Marketing for Job Searchers. This topic that related directly to his best selling book, Guerrilla Marketing for Job Hunters, he co-authored with Jay Conrad Levinson and was published by John Wiley Sons in 2005. This book is a must read for all job searchers and is available from www.amazon.com. I have listened to many speakers over the years, some good, some mediocre, and some bad. David was dynamic! He had everyone riveted to their chairs, not wanting to miss one iota of his presentation. Information loaded with Guerrilla tactics was freely shared with the enticed audience and revolved around 6 key areas: What is Guerrilla Marketing? How to start a Job Search The Force Multiplier Effect Be Found Find a Job Guerrilla Marketing Attack The major premise was that its easier to be Found than Find a job. This is based on using the online tools available to promote yourself on the web, now used as a prime research and screening tool. Davids method of search for senior executive candidates across North America and it works very well, is to use the following: www.execunet.com (membership-based) www.zoominfo.com www.linkedIn.com www.google.com Type your name in any of these sites. Do you have a presence? If so, are you prominent? Does the content do you justice? Are you showing your true colours? Is the web content on your name professional? If you answered no to any of these question you need to do some major rethinking. I will cover how to elevate your web profile soon. Stay tuned!!
